Former Chelsea midfielder has revealed why doesn’t want Chelsea to sign ‘complete midfielder’.

The Former Blues midfielder has hailed Aurelien Tchouameni as a complete midfielder, however he doesn’t want his former club to make a move for his Monaco teammate.

The 21-year-old joined Monaco from Bordeaux in a £16 million deal a year ago and has emerged as a top player despite his young age.

Tchouameni is regarded as one of the brightest young midfield talents in Ligue 1 and has attracted interest from several clubs across Europe, with Chelsea also believed to be watching the young midfielder.

Fabregas has formed a good partnership with Tchouameni and doesn’t want him to leave Monaco.

He said via a tweet: “He (Tchouameni) has the potential to be the complete midfielder.

“Modern midfield player, but we need him still… sorry!”

Medical imminent after Leeds agree deal to sign in-demand Chelsea talent

Leeds United have agreed a deal to sign Chelsea midfielder Lewis Bate, according to reports.

It was reported recently that Bate was looking likely to leave Chelsea in search of first-team opportunities elsewhere. According to the Daily Mail, he has been attracting interest from Leeds, Liverpool, West Ham and Southampton. The situation has developed quickly and now one suitor is in the clear lead.

According to The Athletic, Leeds have now had a bid accepted for the 18-year-old. The exact size of the fee is not specified. Chelsea will retain a sell-on clause but there will not be a buy-back clause in their favour.

Leeds have been looking to strengthen in midfield for a while and the imminent addition of Bate should give them a long-term option. It remains to be seen if they will target a more experienced midfielder as well, but at least this will be one more body in the engine room for them.

It is not yet a done deal and The Athletic warn that other suitors could yet hijack proceedings. However, the clock is ticking, because Leeds are close to completing the deal.

Bate could undergo a medical as early as Wednesday, with discussions over personal terms already underway.

Should the deal go through, Bate will become the fifth new signing of the summer for Leeds. They have also brought in teenage talents Amari Miller and Sean McGurk, as well as making Jack Harrison’s move from Manchester City permanent and capturing Junior Firpo from Barcelona.

Leeds finished in the top half in their long-awaited first season back in the Premier League in 2020-21. The target now is to consolidate their place and they are reinforcing as many areas of their squad as possible to do so.

Chelsea tipped to complete ‘very good’ £30m Aston Villa transfer

Former Aston Villa striker Tammy Abraham is a hot topic this summer.

The Chelsea forward could be key to his side’s transfer business this summer with the Mirror reporting that he has been offered as a makeweight in a deal to bring Erling Braut Haaland to Stamford Bridge from Borussia Dortmund.

Abraham has also been linked with a return to Villa, where he scored 26 goals in the 2018-19 season as Dean Smith’s side returned to the Premier League through the Championship’s play-offs.

PROMOTED STORIES

Villa’s Premier League rivals Leicester City and West Ham United have also been credited with an interest in Abraham, who was one of Chelsea’s most prolific strikers last season scoring 12 goals.

Thomas Tuchel decided not to play Abraham in either the FA Cup final or Champions League final, though, hinting at a lack of confidence in the England international.

Chelsea want a marquee striker to compete with Timo Werner this season and have already sold Olivier Giroud to AC Milan and Abraham could soon follow.

PROMOTED STORIES

Villa may look to sign a centre-forward this summer to compete with Ollie Watkins, Keinann Davis and Wesley Moraes.

Wesley is not long back from recovery after a serious knee injury while Davis is still unproven at Premier League level.

Former Leeds United striker Noel Whelan reckons a £30 million fee would be sufficient for any club that wants to sign Abraham.

“I would say that’s about right,” Whelan told website Football Insider.

“He’s done very well in the Premier League, he’s done very well in the Championship and he’s played international football.

“I think £30m for a player that’s not been a regular in the squad and has played a bit-part. It’s still very good business for Chelsea.

“They must know the capabilities of that player or they wouldn’t be putting him up for £30-40m. I think when you’re getting a player with that ability at that age, £30m is not extortionate to any club.

“It is still very good money for a very, very good young, talented player there.”
