Edison cavani set to sign a new deal extension with manchester united

Published

on

Speculation surrounding Edinson Cavani’s future could be about to come to an end, with the striker reportedly set to sign a new two-year deal at Manchester United.

It had looked like Cavani would leave at the end of the season, having only joined United in October, with Argentinian giants Boca Juniors mooted as a potential landing spot.C

avani, 34, moved to Old Trafford in October after leaving PSG, initially signing until the end of the season with the option of a further year.

Now, though, it appears that he could stay at Old Trafford until the end of the 2022/23 campaign.

United remain on course to finish second in the Premier League behind Manchester City, and they can prevent their rivals from mathematically sealing the title for another week at least by avoiding defeat to Liverpool on Sunday.

Arsenal open to offer for striker, who they could sell to fund move for Chelsea star

Published

Arsenal are open to offers for striker Alexandre Lacazette, who they could sell to fund a move for Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham, according to the Telegraph.

Lacazette was acquired by Arsenal on the back of a prolific campaign with Lyon, but has never managed more than 14 goals in a single Premier League campaign.

The Frenchman’s total in England’s top tier reads as follows: 128 games played, 50 goals scored. It’s nothing to write home about, if not disgraceful.

Arsenal clearly don’t deem his contributions to be sufficient, though, as the Telegraph report they are open to the idea of selling him this summer.

The Telegraph’s story is centred on Arsenal’s surprise interest in signing Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham, who appears to be heading out the exit door.

The belief is that the Gunners would be willing to listen to offers for Lacazette in order to raise funds for Abraham, which would presumably apply for any striker they’re keen on.

With Lacazette out of contract in 2022, this may well be the only opportunity Arsenal will get to recoup a significant amount of the £46.5m (the fee as per the BBC) they paid back in 2017.

Erling Haaland joins Borussia Dortmund training, ignores Chelsea speculation

Published

It’s Wednesday, July 14, 2021. Do you know where your 20-year-old superstar striker is?

Oh, actually, here he is, training with Borussia Dortmund, as one would expect of a player set to stay with the team. No holdout drama here, after all!

And the transfer rumor mill wept…

Day one✔️
Ready for the journey pic.twitter.com/7ZRXxujZO1— Erling Haaland (@ErlingHaaland) July 14, 2021

Haaland had missed the first two days of preseason training, including Dortmund’s first preseason match, but neither the current nor the future BVB sporting directors were worried, and likely with good reason.

The club have maintained all along that they’re not letting the freakishly good striker leave this summer, even if they might get much less in return for him next summer, when his reported €75m release clauses kicks in.

Haaland himself doesn’t appear to be pushing to leave — despite his agent clearly keeping the rumor mill’s wheel turning and churning — and hilariously ignored some journalists this morning, including the always annoying Christian Falk. True.

We asked @ErlingHaaland: „Are you staying at @BVB , Mr. Haaland?” He smiled and said nothing @ChelseaFC @BILD_Sport— Christian Falk (@cfbayern) July 14, 2021

Chelsea agreed transfer fee with Manchester United for James

Published

on

Chelsea have agreed a transfer fee with Manchester United for England striker Lauren James.

The deal is believed to be a record between two Women’s Super League clubs.

James has already undergone a medical at Chelsea and personal terms are now being discussed.

One of the reasons behind the transfer is James’ desire to move back down south to be closer to her family. Her brother Reece plays for Chelsea’s men’s team.

James joined United from Arsenal in 2017 aged 16, becoming the second-youngest player in the side’s history.

She made an instant impact, scoring 14 goals as they won promotion from the Championship at the first attempt.

James also scored United’s first Women’s Super League goal, putting them on course to a 2-0 win over Liverpool in September 2019.

She helped secure a fourth-place finish in last season’s Women’s Super League, 10 points behind champions Chelsea.

James has represented England at U17 and U19 level and was called into a senior training camp in November.
