Man Utd ready move to sign ‘fantastic’ South American

If reports in the media are anything to go by then Manchester United are looking to sign a new goal keeper in the summer and a top Premier League player is on their radar.

According to an exclusive story covered by Football Insider, Man Utd ready move to sign Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez who has been top form this season.

The source have mentioned that the Red Devils want to keep Dean Henderson at the club and sign replacements for De Gea and Sergio Romero. In such a scenario, Martinez has impressed the Old Trafford bosses and they are preparing a blockbuster move to hire his services.

The 28-year-old star won the FA Cup with Arsenal last season and also helped them lift the Community Shield trophy this term before moving to Aston Villa in the summer transfer window.

In his first four league games, the South American shot stopper helped the Villa Park outfit keep 3 clean sheets and conceded just 2 goals. Therefore, in October 2020, he deservedly earned his first call up from the national side, however, he is yet to make his debut for Argentina.

The Birmingham based side were on the brink of relegation last season but this time around, they are fighting to earn European qualification and a lot of credit for that goes to Emiliano Martinez, who is proving to be the signing of the season.

The in form star has kept 14 clean sheets in 27 PL outings under the management of Dean Smith, who thinks that the former Gunner is a ‘fantastic’ goalie (Goal), and is in the running to win the Golden Glove award.

At the moment, Man City’s Ederson is in the lead with 16 clean sheets but Villa have played three fewer games than the Sky Blues.

For Man Unied, Henderson, who had a fantastic season with Sheffield on loan last term, has impressed under Solskjaer and he deserves to be the No.1. Martinez mainly warmed the bench at the Emriates and might not want to be the second choice at Old Trafford after performing consistently well for Villa.

The Argentina international will depart Manchester City when his contract expires on June 30.

Aguero has been linked with various clubs around Europe, including Barcelona and Inter. There is also interest in his services from Premier League sides, with Chelsea and Tottenham among those monitoring the situation.

However, Aguero will not be staying in Manchester beyond the summer, with Solskjaer ruling out a move for City’s all-time leading goalscorer, he said “I won’t name names but you all know who I mean.

Enough said.”Solskjaer may have been referring to Carlos Tevez, who controversially moved to the Eithad Stadium in 2009.

Peter Schmeichel, a former team-mate of Solskjaer’s at United, ended his career with a season-long spell at City in 2002/03.

Owen Hargreaves is another player who has crossed the divide between red and blue in recent years, while Andy Cole spent a year with United’s local rivals.

Solskjaer also hinted that he is keen to upgrade his team’s options at centre-back ahead of next term, “Eric Bailly has just signed a new deal, Axel [Tuanzebe] has played very well when he’s had the chance and hopefully we will have a new player in Phil Jones next season when he’s fit, he’s worked very hard to get fit,” he said.

Roy keane said manchester united won’t win any title of they keep cavani

Former Manchester United captain, Roy Keane, has said the club will not win the Premier League title next season if Edinson Cavani is their first-choice striker.

Cavani has impressed during his time at Old Trafford and scored a brace as they beat Roma 6-2 in the Europa League in midweek.

The Uruguay striker arrived on a 12-month contract, but there is the option to extend for a further year and many believe the striker has warranted an extension.

“He’s 34, if you’re hanging your hat on Cavani next year to getting United back to winning league titles, forget about it.“He’ll be a back-up striker and he won’t want to be a back-up striker, so that’s why he’s reluctant to sign a new contract and there’s obviously family reasons behind it,” Keane told SkySports.
